The album is selling good, on my amazon the vinyl is already sold out with new orders coming in. Anyway, after a few listens and considering the bonus tracks, the album is an 8.5/10 in my opinion

Holy shit man WHY did they put those two songs as BONUS TRACKS?! It's like Cosmic Egg all over again. Cosmonaut is my all time favorite song and it's a mere bonus track. I just don't get it.
Here's my updated list:

Am I the only one that's not impressed with the bonus tracks? Remove Your Mask sounds okay. Decent solo and riff I guess, but there is a big chunk around 1:50 that sounds almost identical to the near-ending of Gypsy Caravan. I hate the fact that this is copied. I loved that bit of Gypsy Caravan and it's kind of ruined now. I'd probably Mask somewhere near the end of the pecking order. Wedding, however, sounds like a mix of Wolfmother and Kadavar. Great drumming from Tiger like always. But there's just something that I'm not too keen on with the track. I don't know what it is  I hope I change my mind. Besides, I've only listened to it three times. |

Each to their own! You know my views and I love that Wolfmother fans each appreciate Wolfmother in their own ways, enjoy different songs more. I'm sure they aren't for everyone like in your case. I personally love the energy and timing in the song, and my excitement for that song isn't something which I really felt since back round was first released. So for me Mask really is up there among my all time favourites!
Wedding is a nice song and I do really enjoy it. Great album overall!

I personally love these riffs Andrew makes... I don't know how to properly describe 'em... It's the ones he uses the microsynth/pog pedals: New Crown, the heavy one in Victorious, the bridge in Gypsy Caravan, the one in the end of Happy Face, Remove Your Mask, etc... They're so awesome. And Wedding sounds like two of my favorite bands put together. It's amazing. It's got a psychedelic chorus like Happy Face, love it.

Yeah I don't see why Remove a your Mask is a bonus track.. But I suppose so was Caroline, cosmonaut, eyes open and back round for CE.. God I am addicted to that song though now, repeat repeat repeat! Also it was nice to see the vinyl taking top and centre stage in HMV.. I was naughty and bought it.. Whoops.. The rack was nearly empty as well for the cd and vinyl.. Good signs! also a small record store near me also had victorious! I was surprised about that one! ANDDDDD Victorious is at 25 in the UK iTunes albums charts.. Also brilliant! Eyes Open... one of my favourite WM songs of all time. Dude... that all sounds sick. I'm so happy for Andrew and co. |
