As much as all of us here are madly in love with Andrew and co., some of the songs released definitely have not pleased everyone. No offense to anyone who likes these songs (honestly, I like all of them, I just like these the least), these are just my humble opinion.
My personal least favorite list:
1. I Don't Know Why - This song has always confused me. I like the production compared to the rest of New Crown; the guitar and drums are clear and don't overshadow one another. The vocals are interesting and I like the effects, but the words are almost completely inaudible and the band seems to not be playing in time with one another throughout the majority of the song. Good riff, good production, but something didn't add up.
2. Country - Always skip this one when listening to Keep Moving. The problem is, when I'm listening to WM or Stockdale songs, I'm not really in the mood for this type of music. When I am in the mood for it, I don't ever think about listening to Keep Moving, so it generally gets ignored in my playlist. Not a bad song, though.
3. Easy Lover - Something about it is off and I can't really place it.
4. Feelings - I apologize in advance to New Crown fans. I was a little confused when I first heard it. I didn't really see what they were getting at. After a few listens I warmed up to it, but it still needed to be on this list. However, I LOVE the bass-only thing, and I especially love the little bass solo Ian gets in the middle. Love that guy.
5. She's a Motorhead - Just kinda generic is all.
6. Lucky Star - One of the best mixes on New Crown, but just doesn't sound like Wolfmother. It's catchy, but just way out of left field.
7. Pretty Peggy - Sounds less like Wolfmother and more like the Lumineers. That's not ALL bad, but it warrants a place on the list.
8. She Got It - I can never get past the really bad editing in the song. You can hear cuts in the audio in a few places and it can be distracting. The song itself isn't half bad, though.
9. In the Castle - I have a feeling not many will agree with me on this one. I love Wolfmother's long, multilayered epics like Where Eagles Have Been and Colossal, but I felt like they were trying a little too hard with this one.
10. Heavy Weight - Don't get me wrong, I LOVE how much fun this song is, but I was never able to take it seriously because I felt it was a little too cheesy. The chorus riff, however, is freaking electrifying. I wish it had better production though.
What are all your least favorites? I know it's a hard list to make, trust me.
