Theres actually 2 versions of Highway.. One has a more perfected effect on the guitar.. I didn't know this under a few weeks ago..
Also that version of Violence of the Sun is amazing.. I did much prefer it..

Violence of the Sun '08 is a classic old forum staple, man. I wish the original lineup had made it to a second album, I reckon it would have sounded very different.

I didn't know this under a few weeks ago.. i'm pretty sure the one with more stereo/perfected guitar effect on the guitar is the official one and the other one i think is just a left channel of the song made mono.

so monolith and inside a mountain never made it into other songs? that is bad. they are such good songs. inside a mountain sounds like it could have been a single and monolith reminds me of black sabbath. maybe they were cowritten by ross and hessket that's why andrew didn't use them?

Awesome! I'm glad it still exists somewhere.

That would make sense about highway. I've always had the mono version so I've always thought that's how it sounded! Thanks for clearing that up.

I'm still about 100% sure Inside The Mountain was recorded during the cosmic egg sessions. There were 17 songs recorded for it & only 15 made the record. (Back Round was recorded in a earlier session) Plus I remember back while they were recording the album they were posting updates everyday & Andy posted the lyrics to the song on Twitter during that time. If memory serves correctly lot of people on the old forums were genuinely surprised when it didn't make the cut, even Ian P. told me it was one of his favorite WM songs.
On a side note though the song's main riff reminds me a lot of the verse riff for Wedding.

hey any chance you could re-up this? under closer inspection i also only have the mono version haha. I also have a MP4 version of "Easy Lover" i got off the old forums if anybody still needs tht. One thing i wish i still had were the covers of "Starman" & "You're My Best Friend" they did when the took requests on twitter & FB

I haven't heard that song in ages! It was a big deal on the old forum everybody thought it was gonna end up on keep moving. I'm not sure we ever found out the title.

Year of the Dragon was released on Andrew Stockdale's first solo record Keep Moving. Everyday Drone is actually called Meridian and was also on that record

Aight cool. But yeah I found that out not too long after so cheers. My main question would be how much do we know of the original second album's details?
