Let's Discuss this amazing album here. Wanted to ask - is "Feelings" the only wolfmother/stockdale song that doesn't contain any guitar? Pretty sure it's just bass/drums and Andrew singing. Also, who's singing at the end of "tangerine dream" doesn't sound like Andrew at all...

It's an amazing album. Better than Keep Moving and so far it seems like it'll remain as the third best WM album. Love the raw production, the longer and heavier songs, the lack of a ballad and the overall attitude of it. I just think it should have been a smaller album, maybe 8 or 9 songs. If they left Feelings, She Got It and I Don't Know Why as bonus tracks or B-Sides, it would have been a near-perfect album. The first five songs are all 10/10 in my book and Tangerine Dream and Radio are amazing too.

Yeah it was definitely more raw and less commercial. I wasn't too keen on it at first. But now I like it. I wouldn't put it up there with debut or Cosmic Egg. Maybe a 7/10 along with Keep Moving in my opinion. It sounded more psychedelic which was what I liked about it. And very retro/vintage whatever you want to call it. Very 70s - so that's another reason I liked it. I also think that Vin Steele did a pretty good job on drums despite the criticism.

Everyone on YouTube comments, facebook or whatever were all saying he should stick to guitar. I'm not sure but people didn't like his drumming. He did have a strange technique and he did look out of place a bit at times, but some of his fills were amazing.

Wish he was still the drummer. WM needs a little bit of stability, y'know?

kierantalksmusic.weebly.com/wolfmother-new-crown-album-review.htmlHere's a review I wrote for New Crown about a year ago. My opinions may have changed since then so don't judge too harsh. I wasn't going to be too bias because I am a fan myself of the band. But I did want to write from the neutral perspective meaning it might have come out a tad too negative. Could be borderline. Any reads or comments would be much appreciated

^ you mean it was digitally lowpitched? Doubt it, he's probably just singing at a lower pitch, it's not too difficult. By the way, that bit is truly awful. Why he included it I will never know.
