The Simple Life is the best song after a few listens of the whole album. Saw Zoolander 2 earlier this week and Mask is in the Movie. Mask I think will be a banger

Well, I don't really know. I loved New Crown and wish this album were a bit more like it, with longer and heavier songs. I agree with the post above saying, in a perfect world, WM would go in the middle ground of being independent and beijg signed to Universal, by going with smaller, especialized labels like Nuclear Blast, Rise Above, etc...

ironically, this album seems less of a band effort than andrew's solo album "keep moving". this one has only 4 musicians with Ian playing only keys. Ian has a really great original bass tone and playing and it's a shame he didnt play bass on this album. in keep moving every wolfmother member 2009-2013 participated and also saw 2 tracks cowritten by other members.

FYI, the yourwolfmother Bandcamp profile has been removed. Management nuked it. Score one for the fans!

Wolfmother has always been Andrew, since the first record. I read an interview a while back where he said that he wrote even Joker by himself in his studio in Liverpool, back in 2003.

That interview sounds quite honest imo. Wolfmother is still a band a lot of people know but may have forgotten about over the years. I think having the opportunity of releasing your music on a big label like Universal and playing big shows all around the world might be as contenting as playing small club gigs with 200-500 people and doing all by yourself. It's just everything on a bigger scale and I think Stockdale wanted to have that again. He tried different things with the last two albums and both were not really relevant for most (casual) fans in the long run. The Wolfmother works in mysterious ways most of the time and right now we're back on track for commercial success. How this is achieved doesn't really matter to me anymore because Wolfmother has always been Andrew Stockdale apparently. In the end it's all about good music and Victorious will be a very good album. I think from now on we will have a lot more consistency with the band in the future. Edit: Did you guys notice that New Crown is now on spotify, deezer etc.? Seems like it is being re-released under Universal. The uploaded version is the remastered CD version with the new How Many Times Mix!

Well, I agree on Pretty Peggy and Best of a Bad Situation but that's it. Eye of the Beholder filler? WTF?! The debut album versions are worse than the first EP versions? Dude's insane. I'd give this album a B+.

That review is a joke, come on
Eye of the beholder filler... Total nosense. It's a classic WM song, very Cosmic Egg style

They gave New Crown a D. That solely takes their entire credit away. And on this one the guy said The Simple Life tries to be this album's Apple Tree. WTF? Love That You Give and City Lights are much more Apple Tree-ish, especially LTYG.

I always end up changing drastically my list after a few listens, so I'm waiting before judging the album at the moment... Btw Baroness is really growing on me, reminds me some cosmic egg's songs When I listen to Baroness all I can think about is Caroline and I don't quite know why. I think it is a similar chord progression or something.
